• Collect needed materials before you begin - You can use a variety of materials for your baby’s scrapbook. That includes:
o construction paper
o glue
o markers
o pens
o photos
o scissors
o scrapbook album
o scrapbook paper
• Remember that the Internet is an excellent place to secure your scrapbooking materials, as it is easier to browse, and provides a wide variety of scrapbooking “ingredients.”
• Make a portrait page - This is a perfect place for a studio portrait of your little one. Choose an attractive background paper and two matching papers. Spell out your baby’s name below the portrait photo, using cut-out blocks of scrapbook paper. Use ribbon or lace to overlie the two matching papers, to create the appearance of layers.
• Create a “welcome home” page - As the saying goes, “home is where the heart it.” This page can include a photo of your baby’s first arrival home. Use construction paper to create an outline of the house. Then add some pizzazz by placing the photo of your baby’s arrival, behind the house’s front door.
• Create a theme of “firsts” - Another of the most effective baby scrapbook layout ideas is to organize it into themes. For instance, you can create pages with some of the baby’s “firsts”—first actions like the following:
o bath
o bottle
o car seat ride
o crawling
o cup drinking
o holiday
o outfit wearing
o sleep
o smile
